Since 2007, our family-owned centre at 1 Shetland Road has cared for the children of Blairmount - many of our first families now send us their younger siblings and cousins. With just 39 places, we're deliberately small: every educator knows every child's name, rhythm and favourite story. From 6 weeks to 6 years, your child will learn through rich, play-based experiences that build curiosity, confidence and a genuine love of learning.

With an approved capacity for up to 39 children, our learning environment is designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning through engaging play-based experiences.

OUR CENTRE PHILOSOPHY
At Blairmount Kids Learning Academy, we believe that the earliest years of a child's life are the most powerful and we take that responsibility seriously. Our philosophy is rooted in the understanding that children are capable, curious learners from birth, and that every experience, interaction, and moment of play is an opportunity for meaningful growth.
We are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework and the principles of the National Quality Framework, ensuring our programs are intentional, evidence-based, and responsive to the unique developmental needs of each child in our care. Learning at BKLA happens through rich, play-based experiences that nurture physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development in equal measure because we know that a confident, well-rounded child is built from all four.
We place genuine partnership with families at the heart of everything we do. Parents and carers are recognised as a child's first and most important educators, and we are committed to open, transparent communication that keeps families informed, involved, and valued as active members of our learning community.

At Blairmount Kids Learning Academy, our team is the heartbeat of everything we do. Led by founder and approved provider Krishna Bhavani Annamalai, who has dedicated over 18 years to early childhood education in the Blairmount community, our centre was built on a clear and unwavering vision to create a place where every child is known, valued, and given the very best start in life. Since opening in 2007, Krishna's hands-on leadership, integrity, and genuine love for children have shaped the culture, programs, and community relationships that make BKLA the trusted centre it is today.
Our close-knit team of qualified educators doesn't just work with children — they raise their own. Many of our educators are parents themselves, and that lived experience matters deeply to us. They understand firsthand the trust it takes to hand your child to someone else's care each morning, the worry that can linger through the day, and the relief of being truly kept in the loop. That understanding shapes everything from the way we greet your child at the door to the way we communicate with you at pick-up. Care at BKLA is never one-size-fits-all.
